My fellow citizens in Indonesia and Dear Indonesian Friends,

Welcome to the website of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Jakarta.

Türkiye and Indonesia are two countries with deep ties of friendship and brotherhood dating back to the 16th century. We are endeavouring to further strengthen our relations built on these historical ties.

The increasing number of mutual high-level visits in recent years is an indication of the common will to develop our relations. We strive to further deepen our relations in the coming period within the framework of the “High Level Strategic Cooperation Council” announced during the visit of our President H.E. Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to Bali in 2022 on the margins of the G20 Leaders’ Summit.

In 2025, we will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic relations. In this framework, we intend to carry out activities in many fields such as politics, economy, education, culture in line with our goal of increasing the knowledge about Türkiye in Indonesia.

Regarding our trade relations with Indonesia as the largest economy of Southeast Asia, we aim to reach 10 billion US Dollars, target set by our leaders.

In order to strengthen the current ties between Türkiye and Indonesia, we continue to organize our activities in the fields of culture, education and development, which are among the most significant dimensions of our bilateral relations. We are carrying out our relations with the contributions of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), Turkish Maarif Foundation and Yunus Emre Institute.

In addition to our positive bilateral relations with Indonesia, we also continue to cooperate in multilateral platforms such as the United Nations, Organization of Islamic Cooperation, G20, D-8 and MIKTA.

Our citizens living in Indonesia constitute one of the fundamental elements of the excellent relations between Türkiye and Indonesia. In this context, we continue our efforts to provide quality and swift service to our citizens who apply to our Consular Section.

Moreover, Turkish Embassy in Jakarta is also accredited to ASEAN. As part of Türkiye’s “Asia Anew Initiative”, Türkiye’s relations with ASEAN continue to develop under our “Sectoral Dialogue Partnership”.

On the other hand, we are also committed to improve our bilateral relations with Timor Leste (where Turkish Embassy in Jakarta is also accredited).
