TURKISH FILM FESTIVAL 2012

The Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey and the B2C Film Agency in Turkey will organized Turkish Film Festival 2012 on 30 November - 2 December 2012. This is the Third time we are organizing this event as a result of the great enthusiasm during the Jakarta Turkish Film Festival  2010 and 2011.

The Jakarta Turkish Film Festival 2012 will take place at Studio 2 of the Epicentrum XXI in Kuningan will be free of charge for Indonesian and expat audiences.

The Festival will be opened with Gala Reception, by invitation only, at the Epicentrum XXI in Kuningan followed by a film “Fetih 1453  (Connquest 1453)”. Three other films, open to public, will be screened on 1 and 2 December 2012 at the same venue.

SYNOPSISES

Ø  CONQUEST 1453 (Action – Adventure – Drama)

After the death of his father Murat II, Mehmet II ascends to the Ottoman throne. After braving internal and external enemies, he decides to complete what he was destined to do - conquer Constantinople. Istanbul; then Constantinople is surrounded by Ottoman Turks, and Byzantium is suffering from bad management. Surrounding the ottomans was only salvation, but bad and corrupt Byzantium management had chosen to fight. At the end they lost the city to its rightful owners as the last prophet has welcomed the conqueror.

Ø  DOT (Crime – Drama – Thriller)

The young Ahmet (Mehmet Ali Nuroğlu) is a talented calligrapher, and perhaps in his art he could be a true master of “ihcam,” but in his life he is far from making any mistakes. It is one such error of judgment that will change Ahmet’s life forever – he unwillingly becomes an accessory to a crime involving the theft of a highly valuable ancient Quran. His actions are irreversible although he tries in vain to make amends, and, in his own way, atone for what he has done. His journey takes him to the vast plains of Tuz Gölü (Salt Lake) in Central  Anatolia, where his own master lives. And as Ahmet runs from one terra incognita to another in  esperation, to salvage himself from his past, we realize that nothing will ever be the same again.

Ø  PROPAGANDA (Comedy – Drama – History)

Based on a true story set in 1948, customs officer Mehti is faced with the duty of formally setting up the border between Turkey and Syria, dividing his hometown. He is unaware of the pain that will eminently unfold, as families, languages, cultures and lovers are both ripped apart and clash head on in a village once united.

Ø  FİG JAM (Romance – Drama)

We've got our cool, talented and depressed writer Metin (Sezai Paracıkoğlu) who makes his living by writing sketches for a TV show. His real ambition is to sell his screenplays, which are turned down by every producer in town since they are too artsy or realistic. He's got a fantastic apartment in Galata, designed to look like an ideal place that could be exhibited under the title “İstanbul -- Le Cool” in Architectural Digest. Of course, Metin's got his favorite bar where he hangs out as the cool and funny dude sitting at the bar. One night he ends up taking care of an incredibly drunk woman called Duygu (Melike Güner). And then story begins…

SYNOPSISES

 PENAKLUKAN 1453 (Aksi - Petualangan - Drama)

Setelah kematian ayahnya Murat II, Mehmet II naik ke tahta Ottoman. Setelah menantang musuh-musuhnya, ia memutuskan untuk menyelesaikan apa yang ditakdirkan untuknya - menaklukkan Konstantinopel. Istanbul, kemudian Konstantinopel dikelilingi oleh Ottoman Turki, dan Byzantium menderita akibat pemerintahan yang buruk. Mengepung Ottoman menjadi satu-satunya cara agar selamat, tetapi pemerintahan Byzantium yang buruk dan korup telah memilih untuk melawan. Pada akhirnya mereka kehilangan kota untuk pemiliknya yang sah.

DOT (Kejahatan - Drama - Thriller)                            

Ahmet muda (Mehmet Ali Nuroğlu) adalah penulis kaligrafi berbakat, dan mungkin dalam seni, ia bisa menjadi master sejati "ihcam," tetapi dalam hidupnya ia jauh dari membuat kesalahan. Ini adalah kesalahan penghakiman yang mengubah hidupnya selamanya - ia enggan menjadi enggan menjadi bagian dari kejahatan yang melibatkan pencurian Quran kuno yang sangat berharga. Tindakannya tidak dapat diubaah, meskipun ia mencoba sia-sia untuk menebus kesalahan, dan, dengan caranya sendiri, menebus apa yang telah ia lakukan. PROPAGANDA (Comedy - Drama - Sejarah)

Berdasarkan kisah nyata yang ditetapkan pada tahun 1948, bea cukai Mehti dihadapkan dengan tugas resmi mendirikan perbatasan antara Turki dan Suriah, membagi kampung halamannya. Dia tidak menyadari rasa sakit yang nyata akan terungkap, sebagai keluarga, bahasa, budaya dan pecinta keduanya  terpisah.

FIG JAM (Romantis - Drama)

Kami punya penulis keren, berbakat dan namun muram, Metin (Sezai Paracıkoğlu) yang membuat hidup dengan menulis sketsa untuk acara TV. Ambisi aslinya adalah menjual skenario-nya, yang ditolak oleh setiap produser di kota karena mereka terlalu berseni atau realistis. Dia punya apartemen fantastis di Galata, yang dirancang untuk terlihat seperti tempat yang ideal yang bisa dipamerkan dengan judul "İstanbul - Le Cool" di Architectural Digest. Tentu saja, Metin mendapat bar favoritnya di mana ia bergaul dengan teman yang keren dan lucu duduk di bar. Suatu malam ia akhirnya mengurus seorang wanita yang sangat mabuk disebut Duygu (Guner Melike). Dan kemudian cerita dimulai ..
